Ashurst was awarded Competition Team of the Year at the Legal
Business Awards 2009, held on 12 February at the Grosvenor House
Hotel in London.
Ashurst's competition team received the award in recognition of its
work for key client Virgin Media in "achieving a string of
successes concerning its regulatory position in the pay-TV market."
The Legal Business judges commended the team's ability to "keep up
the pace and think laterally" and provide "a fantastic combination
of pragmatic advice and creative, outside-the-box thinking."
Commenting on the award, Ashurst's head of competition, Nigel Parr, said:
"We are delighted to receive the Legal Business competition award
for the second time in three years. We had to beat some stiff
competition and it is a credit to everyone in our group and the
in-house team at Virgin Media that we were able to do so."
The firm was also short listed in the Structured Finance and Real
Estate categories.
