Helen McKenzie is the Australian deputy managing partner and a
partner in the employment group in Sydney.
Helen was appointed deputy managing partner in October 2008.
She has been a partner in the employment group for over 15 years
and for the last three years served as practice leader of that
group.
In addition to her role as deputy managing partner, Helen maintains
a legal practice.
Helen is one of Australia's leading employment lawyers with
extensive experience in industrial arrangements, the management of
industrial action, contracts, awards and agreements, outsourcing,
executive remuneration and benefits and discrimination. An
important focus of Helen's practice is working with clients on the
development of workplace strategies to help major business
restructure and implement workplace change. Helen is widely
regarded as an expert on employment issues in the airline industry
and "understands the relationship aspect of the business",
according to clients - Chambers Global, 2011.
In addition to her client work, Helen held numerous leadership
roles in the firm including Sydney staff partner, a role she has
held for over eight years. As staff partner, Helen was
actively involved in the recruitment, coaching and mentoring of
young lawyers. She is particularly passionate about the
development of women in the workplace and has been a major
contributor to the firm's EEO policies.
